Wat Samrong Knong: History and Culture that Located about 4 km from Battambang province, Wat Samrong Knong district. It is known as the oldest pagoda, built-in 1707. 
During the Khmer Rouge era, Wat Samrong Knot was transformed from a quiet monument and a place to study the Dharma into a place of detention and torture. And the most brutal place to kill people. About 1,008 skulls and remains were excavated from 100 ponds and pits around Wat Samrong today.
Wat Samrong Knong is a popular place when there are big festivals such as Pchum Ben New Year, it is crowded from morning to night.
