Koh Khong is the most beautiful province of (Kampuchea) Cambodia. It is one of the biggest provinces in the whole country with long undeveloped coastline and mountains, forest and largely  inaccessible interior, which embrace part of the Cardamom mountains, the biggest coherent rainforest of the southeast Asia. it tourist attractions include abundant wildlife and big waterfalls on the border to Thailand.


The province of Koh Kong is an increasingly popular gateway to Cambodia from Hat Lek in the southern Thailand, in part of reasonably direct access to the port and town of Shihanukvile. While this was previously a gruelling journey  by boat and pick up on rough bumpy roads using small ferries at river crossings, the donation by the Thai government of the road infrastructure is improving access greatly.

Sleppy Koh Kong was one Cambodia's wild west with its its isolated frontier economic dominated by smuggling, prostitution  and gambling. Today this low-slung town is striding towards respectability as eco tourists, aming to explore the Cardamom mountains and coastline, shoo away the Sleaze.


Many travelers see Koh Kong only short time as they pass through on the way to//from the border. But that is Changing as the the province becomes something of an eco-destination.

Northeast of the Koh Kong city the jungled Cardamom Mountains cover much of the Koh Kong province, offering biking trekking,  and river excursion possibilities. To the south secluded beaches line the coastline  and nearby island of the same mame as the city and province, Koh Kong. base your adventure out of the city where you can arrange tours and trip. The selection of the accommodations and dining in the town is a bit limited. but this is still a fair choice of budget and mind range hotels as well as a few good dining opportunities, including a couple of riverside places specializing in fresh seafood.

Koh Kong Island

Koh Kong island (Koh Kong Kraoh) is Cambodia's largest island. The seven beaches are all on the west side of the island. You will find accommodation a few beaches. You reach Koh Kong island with a boat tour from Koh Kong city.

Koh Kong island is largest island of Cambodia. It is about 22 km south of Koh Kong town, which is on the mainland, Koh Kong is 39 square miles with its length being about 12 miles and its width ranging from 3.2 to 4.5 miles.

The highest point on the island is about 200 yards above see level, and there is 38 square miles of coastline  54 km, which make it one of the largest coastline area of the 23 islands that are in Ream National Park.

There is only one settlement om the island and that is at Alatang, a small fishing village which is on the south east coner of the island. The population is than 30, most of which work exclusively in the fishing in dustry, but some have taken to working in the tourism i dustry.

On the west side of the island there are six absolutely beautiful beach area, each of which has its own fresh water lagoon from the high mountain peak. these are incredible place to visit and you will love the warm waters of lagoons...

Cambodia is become one of the most popular tourist place on the earth, and it is a place like Koh Kong island that are making if such an attractive destination.
